St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, a 229‑bed acute care hospital in Enid, OK, is looking for a Registered Nurse to provide care in the Labor & Delivery unit on a PRN basis.
Position SummaryThe RN has multiple roles and functions including caregiver, decision‑maker, Alc. advocate, manager, rehabilitator, comforter, communicator, and teacher. Duties involve assessing nursing needs, initiating and implementing plans of care, coordinating interdisciplinary care, and documenting progress to promote safe and professional practice.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Conduct patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population‑specific, and diversity needs assessments.
- Construct and implement plans of care using nursing knowledge and skill, integrating direct and indirect patient care activities related to diagnosis and comorbidities.
- Coordinate the implementation of interdisciplinary plans of care for assigned patients, developing goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
- Consistently perform hourly rounds to strengthen communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs (e.g., pain, repositioning, toileting). Rounds include proactive evaluation of the environment to ensure a patient‑friendly and safe setting.
- Collaborate with the patient’s designated care partner to meet educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
- Current RN licensure from the State of Oklahoma.
- ADN required; BSN preferred.
- Up to 3 years’ experience preferred.
- BLS required.
- ALS and NRP certification required within 6 months of hiring.
- Completion of Basic Fetal Heart Monitoring Program (ED:
FETALM) within 90 days of orientation if new to service line. - Completion of Intermediate AWHON posse within 6 months of employment.
