Responsibilities

Implements Physical Therapy services/treatments for patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Maintains appropriate documentation.

  • Demonstrates strong working knowledge and skill experience with a variety of diagnostic groups including, but not limited to: orthopedic and arthritis‑related conditions; neurological groups including CVA, TBI, degenerative neurological diseases, SCI; generalized weakness from medical or surgical conditions such as DM, ESRD, amputation, COPD, CHF, and CABG under direct supervision of a licensed therapist.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of IRF‑PAI (Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility‑Patient Assessment Instrument) and the Care Tool and their application in the payment system for CMS.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of normal growth and development, related behaviors, needs, comfort, and appropriate range of treatment for the age (adult, geriatric) and diagnosis of patient services to support the provision of an individualized interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Implements patient care, with consideration of the interdisciplinary team process and patient plan of care, in a knowledgeable and skillful manner, maintaining a high quality of work performance in all areas.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide the proper assistance, verbal cueing, and other necessary support for optimal performance and patient outcome.

Requirements
  • Associate degree from an APTA accredited school required.
  • Eligible for or holds current Physical Therapist Assistant licensure to practice in the State of Oklahoma required.
  • Basic life support (BLS) required.
  • First Aid certification preferred.
  • Previous PTA experience in inpatient rehab or acute settings preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
