AV Project Engineer

We are seeking a high energy, resourceful, organized and detail-oriented Pre-Sales/Project Engineer to help with executing successful projects with the best clients (we call them partners) in the world. The Pre-Sales/Project Engineer position will fill a key role within the organization and work closely with the Sales, Operation and Technical teams.

The Engineer will be responsible for reviewing design/construction plans, documenting customer solutions based on sold systems, working with project managers to technically implement systems, and producing documentation suitable for system installation, and control system programming scopes.

• Support sales and product management teams and respond to functional and technical questions arising from new business proposals as well as RFIs and RFPs
• Ability to review complex scopes of work and suggesting bills of materials
• Draft schematics of digital signage hardware, power and data requirements.
• Ability to read architectural, mechanical, elevation, RCP and electrical (MEP) drawing sets.
• Create system integration documents (CAD Drawings) with knowledge of screens, mounts, and depth, etc.
• Communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, installation teams and vendors
• Provide sales and technical staff with high end technical support on both a pre- and post-sales basis including attending project meetings.
• Understanding of construction requirements as it relates to proper blocking, design, mounting, and cabling requirement for digital signage and general consumer engagement
• Basic understanding of troubleshooting of signage hardware
• Familiarity with support processes for hardware manufacturers
• Understanding of pro/av installer limitations and expectations

• Pro/AV with a focus on consumer engagement, especially digital signage is a must
• At least 3 years of overall Pro AV design and support experience – focusing on consumer engagement
• At least 2 years as an Audio-Visual Sales Specialist/Engineer, Design Engineer, or Project Engineer, supporting Pro AV designed solutions
• Working knowledge of networking and networking solutions
• Ability to write a scope of work and finalize a system deployment and build-out
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with other people
• Ability to communicate and engage with distributors, partners and customers either over the phone and face to face.
• Provide feedback and recommendations of the market, solutions and products
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Be comfortable working in a fast-growing, rapidly-changing, startup environment.
• Proficient in MS Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to problem solve and think outside of the box in a fast-paced setting
• Strong aptitude to constantly advance knowledge to keep on top of a rapidly changing field and have innovative solutions for clients.
• Willing to adapt and stay flexible to keep up with the ever-changing technology in the marketplace
• Self-starter (you like to try and put things together without reading the instruction manual first – but aren’t too proud to read the instruction manual if necessary).

• Must have:
• Experience with AV/technology construction and commissioning
• Programming/Configuring Extron, BiAmp, Network Switching, Digital Signage Hardware
• Ability to go in the field to our remote site.
• Ability to manage subcontractors on multiple jobs and communicate with internal/external teams.

This position is based in Englewood, NJ. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Travel:
It is expected that this role will be traveling to customer sites all over North America. Maybe 20% of your time.
