The manager provides leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the care provided for patients. Responsibilities include fiscal, human resource, and operational functions. Maintains 24 hour accountability. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the practice of nursing process. Demonstrates the ability to plan and provide for delivery of nursing services. Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people and to maintain constructive relationships in dealing with them. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Participates in counseling and guidance of personnel. Acts as a representative of administration for patient care.
Ability to assume twenty‑four hour responsibility for integration of interpersonal aspects in all patient care. Ability to assume leadership role with the health team in planning and delivery of patient care. Recognized personal responsibility in striving for innovative health care delivery, which meets contemporary needs and assumes leadership in negotiating for changes in health care.
The CVICU Manager leads a high‑acuity cardiovascular intensive care unit caring for patients requiring advanced cardiac support, including ECMO, complex heart surgeries (such as CABG and valve replacements), and mechanical circulatory support devices like intra‑aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Impella. This role requires close collaboration with cardiac surgery, perfusion, and interventional cardiology teams to deliver cutting‑edge, evidence‑based care. The manager supports and empowers a high‑performing, motivated team that is driven to be the best—committed to excellence, continuous learning, and delivering exceptional outcomes in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment.
Qualifications- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure.
