Organization

Overview

The City of Englewood is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve by providing superior services that support a vibrant and inclusive community, investing in our future through fiscally responsible decisions, and preserving our unique identity while welcoming new growth. Englewood’s core functions are organized around eight outcome areas identified in the City’s Strategic Plan:
Safety, Infrastructure, Transportation, Economy, Governance, Community Engagement, Community Wellbeing, and Sustainability. Each outcome area includes goals shaped by resident input and supported by clearly defined projects designed to advance those goals.

Service Position Summary

This position will report to the City Manager’s Office and will directly support the work of the Arapahoe County Food Security Coalition (ACFSC), with a focus on initiatives that may impact the City of Englewood. ACFSC, in collaboration with the Tri-Cities (Englewood, Littleton, and Sheridan) and regional non-profits, is currently exploring two major initiatives: development of a Food Hub serving the Tri-Cities area and a potential sugary beverage fee that would fund nutrition-security efforts.

In 2026, the City Manager’s Office anticipates engaging with ACFSC to stay informed, assess implications for Englewood, and support coordination as appropriate, and this position will assist in that effort.

Activities may include:
  • Mapping food access in Englewood using qualitative research, engagement with community members, and coordination with local partners to mitigate food deserts in the City
  • Researching best practices from existing food hubs, locally and nationally, to assess feasibility and inform the potential development of a food hub in Englewood
  • Conducting policy research, development, and analysis related to a sugary beverage fee designed to address nutrition insecurity in the Tri-Cities
  • Coordinating Englewood’s food access efforts with ACFSC by participating in Coalition-wide meetings, task groups, and work sessions related to the food hub and sugary beverage fee
  • Supporting the work of other Ameri Corps Members at the City working on affordable housing and economic stability
