Reata Engineering & Machine Works, Inc. ("Reata"), a state-of-the-art contract manufacturer specializing in comprehensive machining and assembly services, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that assembled components meet our rigorous quality standards and are delivered to customers on time.
In addition to assembly work, this position supports downstream production and finishing activities, including passivation processing, laser engraving, and occasional shipping and receiving support, helping ensure a smooth and efficient flow of products through our facility.
OverviewAs an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, and testing components and finished products according to specifications. You will also assist with finishing operations such as passivation and laser engraving, and occasionally support shipping and receiving activities when production demands require it. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products meet customer specifications and are delivered accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities- Component Assembly – Assemble parts and components according to blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications. Ensure all assemblies are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Inspection and Testing – Inspect parts and completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and functionality. Perform tests to ensure products meet required performance standards.
- Passivation Processing – Perform passivation processes on stainless steel components according to established procedures and safety protocols. Ensure parts are properly cleaned, treated, and documented to meet quality and customer requirements.
- Laser Engraving – Operate laser engraving equipment to mark parts with required identifiers such as part numbers, serial numbers, lot numbers, or customer-specific markings. Ensure engravings meet quality and legibility standards.
- Documentation – Accurately document assembly, inspection, passivation, and engraving results, including any deviations or non-conformances. Maintain records of completed work.
- Inventory and Material Handling – Work with the production team to ensure all necessary materials and components are available for assembly and finishing operations. Notify supervisors of shortages or discrepancies.
- Shipping & Receiving Support – Provide occasional support to the shipping and receiving team, including packaging parts, preparing shipments, receiving materials, and assisting with internal material movement when needed.
- Tool Maintenance – Maintain and clean assembly tools and equipment. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Safety Compliance – Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor.
- Educational Background – High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certification in manufacturing, assembly, or related technical fields is a plus.
- Experience – 2+ years of experience in assembly, manufacturing, or a similar production environment preferred.
- Technical Skills – Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly instructions, and technical documents. Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Experience with finishing processes, marking equipment, or packaging operations is beneficial.
- Attention to Detail – Strong focus on accuracy and quality, with the ability to detect and address assembly or quality issues.
- Manual Dexterity – Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for precise assembly and finishing tasks.
