Fabrication, Installation Technician
Pursuant to 20 C.F.R. Section 656.10(d), you are hereby notified that this notice is being posted as a result of the filing of Application for Permanent Employment Certification for the above position and as described below:
Fabricate and install aircraft parts and assemblies in accordance with FAA requirements, GDMR-101, DUN-A-1, and other approved procedures. Measure dimensions, contours, trim lines, angles, radii, and coordination of parts for conformance to blueprints and specifications. Use precision measuring equipment to fabricate fixtures, brackets, housings, and related parts from sheet metal, stainless steel, and composites according to DUN-A-1, technical reference materials, and other related approved documents.
Fabricate and assemble tubing components and cable assemblies following blueprints and specifications. Fabricate and install parts, assemblies, and antenna doublers in pressurized and non-pressurized aircraft, finding alternate solutions. Design parts to be fabricated or welded, including assembly sketches, hardware, and installation specifications in accordance with DUN-A-1 and FAA specifications and regulations. Designate correct fasteners using fastener codes. Document procedures and techniques for Engineering and/or FAA approval.
Perform cockpit detailing and refurbishing to include locating, layout and cutting, patching, and cutting holes for instruments, control panels, and switches. Finish and engrave, including paint matching, touchup and airbrush work. Complete required paperwork. Maintain thorough knowledge of work order procedures. Properly document all removal and installation of aircraft parts and accessories according to installations-approved procedures. Use appropriate corrosion control processes upon completion of parts and fixtures before installation.
Disassemble and reassemble aircraft interior, instrument panels, and avionics equipment bays prior to and/or following the installation of aircraft systems, using proper handling and storage techniques. Maintain current industry, equipment, and FAA knowledge by attending factory classes, on the job training, and researching and reading technical documents, trade publications, and FAR's. Assists with training lesser-experienced technicians and in interpreting company policies and the FAR's.
Available to work all department alternate shifts as needed and accomplish road trips/travel within the United States 15-20% of the time. Position located in Englewood, CO.
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent with three years' experience in sheet metal, aircraft structures, fabrication, or closely related experience. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record and respirator fit eligible.
