Overview
As an Associate Immigration Attorney you will provide legal representation and counsel to individuals and families on a wide range of immigration matters. This role involves managing an active caseload, preparing filings, communicating with clients, and supporting litigation or administrative processes before immigration courts. You will act as a mentor to the paralegals within your department, triage cases, and manage caseloads.
You will also be tasked with keeping up to date on relevant rules, regulations and requirements related to your department's practice area. You will assist with drafting, reviewing, and revising documents including but not limited to motions and pleadings. You will perform complex, detailed, and timely research, investigation, and legal documentation, correspondence, and or reporting. You will be expected to make court appearances when necessary.
You will have a team spirit and, overall, be client minded.
- Provide legal representation and counsel on immigration matters.
- Manage an active caseload, prepare filings, communicate with clients, and support litigation or administrative processes before immigration courts.
- Mentor paralegals, triage cases, and manage caseloads.
- Stay up to date on relevant rules, regulations, and requirements related to the department’s practice area.
- Draft, review, and revise documents including motions and pleadings.
- Perform complex, detailed, and timely research, investigation, and legal documentation, correspondence, and reporting.
- Make court appearances when necessary.
- Demonstrate team spirit and client-centered service.
- License to practice law.
- One to three years of immigration experience.
- Excellent and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Flexible working hours to solidify positive relationships; comfortable working under pressure.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities and self-motivation with strong attention to detail.
- Leadership, management, and mentoring experience preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (read, write, and speak both languages).
- Comfortable and confident with MyCase and Docketwise.
$90,000 - $125,000
