Senior Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense:
Trucking Accident Litigation

Robert Half has partnered with a leading litigation firm seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to join its insurance defense practice with a strong focus on high-value trucking accident cases. This role involves direct representation of national and regional insurers in complex, high-exposure matters involving commercial motor vehicles, including catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead all phases of litigation from pre-suit through trial and appeal.

- Conduct case assessments, liability evaluations, and coverage analyses.

- Manage discovery involving telematics, ECM data, and driver records.

- Take and defend depositions of drivers, witnesses, and experts.

- Retain and prepare experts in accident reconstruction, medical causation, and trucking compliance.

- Draft and argue dispositive and evidentiary motions in state and federal court.

- Provide strategic reporting to insurance clients, including exposure analysis and settlement recommendations.

- Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

- Ensure compliance with Colorado litigation procedures, including damage caps and comparative fault rules.

- Stay current on FMCSA regulations and Colorado trucking laws.

Qualifications:

- J.D. from an accredited law school.

- 7+ years of civil litigation experience, ideally in insurance defense and trucking/transportation.

- Trial experience preferred.

- Strong knowledge of Colorado tort law and FMCSA regulations.

- Excellent writing, advocacy, and case management skills.

Requirements - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

- Minimum of seven years of experience in civil litigation, with a preference for insurance defense and transportation cases.

- Proven trial experience is highly desirable.

- Strong knowledge of Colorado tort law and transportation regulations.

- Exceptional legal writing, advocacy, and case management abilities.

- Active license to practice law in the state of Colorado.

- Demonstrated expertise in handling complex litigation matters.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
