Summary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of complex technical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals. This role oversees cross functional teams, often including technical, business, and vendor partners, to drive project execution from initial concept through deployment and transition to operations. The Senior Project Manager proactively manages risks, issues, and dependencies;
maintains transparent communication with stakeholders; and ensures all project documentation, reporting, and performance metrics are accurate and current. The Senior Project Manager may also mentor junior project managers and contribute to standards, tools, and best practices across the PMO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Lead end to end delivery of technical projects, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, budget, and organizational standards.
• Develop and maintain core project documentation, including charters, schedules, risk/issue logs, communication plans, and status reporting, to ensure transparency and informed decision making.
• Facilitate project planning, team meetings, stakeholder updates, and cross functional collaboration to drive momentum and resolve issues quickly.
• Build strong relationships with business partners, technology teams, vendors, and credit union stakeholders to support delivery of key initiatives.
• Maintain accurate project portfolio data, track deliverables and benefits, and contribute to PMO best practices while supporting and mentoring junior PMs.
Who You Are
• You are a highly organized, adaptable self-starter who brings clarity and structure to complex technical initiatives, even in fastmoving or highly regulated financial services environments. You confidently navigate multiple priorities in parallel and need minimal direction to keep projects on track.
• You lead through influence rather than authority, motivating cross functional business, technology, and vendor teams to deliver against scope, schedule, and budget expectations. Your leadership style is grounded in servant leadership: you remove blockers, reduce distractions, and create an environment where teams can perform at their best.
• You manage delivery end to end, from concept through deployment and transition to operations, with strong discipline in planning, documentation, and risk/issue management. Stakeholders trust you because you communicate clearly, provide accurate and timely updates, and ensure transparency across all levels, including senior leaders and product owners.
• You excel at facilitating discussions, enabling decision making, resolving conflict, and keeping delivery momentum strong across business and technology partners. Relationship building is your strength, you partner effectively with credit union stakeholders, internal sponsors, and vendor teams to advance key initiatives that are critical in a member centric financial services organization.
• You are comfortable navigating financial-services controls and understand how to manage delivery in environments with compliance, audit, and security expectations.
• With experience across the SDLC and familiarity with Agile methods and delivery toolsets, you bridge the gap between technical and business needs while ensuring alignment with regulatory and operational standards common in financial services environments.
• You take pride in being thorough, consistent, and disciplined, keeping plans, risks, and portfolio data current, while contributing to continuous improvement within the PMO.
Qualifications
• At least 5 years of experience delivering enterprise-wide projects in a fast-paced IT organization, coordinating both technical and business teams.
• At least 4 years of experience in a client facing role focused on service delivery
