About The Role

➡️ We are seeking a Microsoft Security Expert to join our virtual Cyber Security team. This is a unique opportunity to work hands‑on with Microsoft’s most advanced security capabilities, including Copilot for Security and MXDR, going well beyond a standard E5 implementation.

➡️ The successful candidate will own the implementation, configuration, and operational support of the Microsoft E5 security stack, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel. This is a hands‑on role working closely with our CISO, IT, and security teams to maximize the value of our Microsoft security investments.

➡️ Who we are?

• Platform Ownership:
  Act as the subject matter expert for Microsoft E5 security, designing, implementing, and continuously improving security controls across our cloud services.
• Microsoft Purview:
  Implement and operate Purview for data security, including data classification, DLP, and Insider Risk Management, and support related incident response.
• Microsoft Defender:
  Manage the full Microsoft Defender suite (Endpoint, Office 365, Identity, Cloud Apps), tuning detections and collaborating with the SOC on threat response.
• Microsoft Sentinel:
  Support the operational use of Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR) by assisting with analytics rules, automation, and threat hunting activities.
• Collaboration & Governance:
  Work with security and IT teams to align tools and processes, ensure configurations meet compliance requirements (GDPR, NIS2), and act as a trusted advisor on Microsoft security best practices.

Experience

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in an enterprise cyber security role.
• Proven experience implementing and operating Microsoft E5 security technologies, with a strong focus on Purview (DLP, Information Protection), Defender (EDR, threat hunting), and Sentinel.
• Strong background in incident response, SOC operations, and security workflow automation.
• Certifications (Nice to have):
• Microsoft Security certifications (e.g., SC-200, SC-300, SC-400, AZ-500)
• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent
