Job SummaryOur client is seeking a System/Dev Ops Engineer to join their team! This position is located in Englewood, Colorado.
Responsibilities- Run Ansible automation to update virtual machines for security compliance on a monthly cadence.
- Perform manual break‑fix of virtual machines as needed to support users, developers and security.
- Perform manual break‑fix of various services running on both traditional VMs and Kubernetes.
- Use Grafana dashboards to identify potentially degraded systems and perform break‑fix.
- Process JIRA security tickets addressed by automated patching, identify potentially unaddressed CVEs for enhancements to Ansible automation.
- Process security remediation plans and other compliance business analysis tasks.
- Identify unaddressed and false positive CVEs from Git Lab security scan results for development team.
- Identify issues with lab networks or lab services that may be causing application issues and open tickets with relevant teams.
- Identify network connectivity issues between application systems and external systems used by test automation.
- Mid-level Linux and Windows system administration experience.
- Familiarity with running Ansible playbooks.
- Familiarity with the CVE database and security compliance in general.
- Familiarity with Git and Jira, or another ticketing system.
- Understanding of network diagnostic tools such as ping, trace route, telnet, dig, nslookup, nmap and TCP/IP networking basics.
- Understanding of operating system diagnostic tools for processes, system events, and resource utilization.
- Understanding of Kubernetes basics such as deployments, pods, ingress.
- Ability to read logs, make reasonable hypotheses of potential issues and further diagnose.
- Strong written communication skills operating in an asynchronous and responsive environment.
