Position: Relationship Manager I

Responsibilities

As a Commercial and Specialty Banking Relationship Manager I, you will ensure the overall success and growth of an assigned portfolio by deepening relationships with existing clients and acquiring new clients. You will cross‑sell lending, depository, and Treasury Management products, design credit solutions, negotiate terms and collateral, and manage credit exposure exceeding two million dollars and fee income over twenty‑five thousand dollars.

You will provide financial advice, maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, update financial statements, maintain insurance on collateral, and monitor compliance with credit standards. All associates are expected to maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies, including BSA and OFAC requirements.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field, or a combination of education and work experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Good managerial, communication and sales skills.
Desired Qualifications

To be considered an ideal candidate, you should possess some of the following qualifications.

  • MBA or master’s degree in business, finance or a related field, or a combination of education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of Commercial or Specialty experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong business development skills and an overall understanding of credit and business finance.
  • Strong networking skills and participation in networking events within the market area.
  • Competence in the operation of standard office equipment, including the computer, fax, ten‑key calculator and phone.
  • Competence in the use of standard office software, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Solid knowledge of banking policies, regulations and compliance issues.
  • Solid ability to analyze financial statements and basic accounting principles.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build peer and/or team cohesiveness to deliver the full complement of bank products and services.
  • Self‑directed and motivated to accomplish tasks, meet objectives and adhere to committed timelines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate issues clearly and concisely.
Work Environment

  • Tasks may require physical exertion such as grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, raising, and holding hands and arms overhead.
  • Office setting with traditional hours.
  • Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than eight hours).
  • Must be able to work extended hours as necessary.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
