Accounting Manager, Bookkeeper/ Accounting Clerk
A growing organization is seeking a detail‑focused Full Charge Bookkeeper to support end‑to‑end payroll processing, general ledger activities, and financial operations. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys optimizing processes, and brings strong technical accuracy to payroll and accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage full‑cycle payroll for multi‑state, bi‑weekly and semi‑monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
- Maintain and audit employee payroll data, tax withholding, benefits deductions, and wage garnishments.
- Prepare, reconcile, and submit payroll‑related journal entries and month‑end close activities.
- Support general ledger accounting
, including account reconciliations and variance analysis. - Assist with AP/AR functions
, expense reimbursements, and financial reporting tasks as needed. - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Partner with HR and Finance teams to streamline processes and improve internal controls.
- Prepare payroll metrics, reports, and ad‑hoc financial analysis for leadership.
- 4+ years of experience in payroll, accounting, or a combined finance operations role.
- Strong understanding of FLSA
, multi‑state payroll rules, and payroll tax fundamentals. - Experience with payroll systems (ADP, UKG, Paycom, Workday, etc.).
- Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP preferred).
- Advanced proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations).
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy in data review, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- CPP or FPC certification a plus, but not required.
