Bookkeeper

A growing organization is seeking a detail-focused Full Charge Bookkeeper to support end-to-end payroll processing, general ledger activities, and financial operations. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys optimizing processes, and brings strong technical accuracy to payroll and accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle payroll for multi-state, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
• Maintain and audit employee payroll data, tax withholding, benefits deductions, and wage garnishments.
• Prepare, reconcile, and submit payroll-related journal entries and month-end close activities.
• Support general ledger accounting, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Assist with AP/AR functions, expense reimbursements, and financial reporting tasks as needed.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
• Partner with HR and Finance teams to streamline processes and improve internal controls.
• Prepare payroll metrics, reports, and ad-hoc financial analysis for leadership.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in payroll, accounting, or a combined finance operations role.
• Strong understanding of FLSA, multi-state payroll rules, and payroll tax fundamentals.
• Experience with payroll systems (ADP, UKG, Paycom, Workday, etc.).
• Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP preferred).
• Advanced proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations).
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy in data review, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• CPP or FPC certification a plus, but not required.
