Key Accountabilities

Job Title

Leadership

• Demonstrate exemplary safety awareness and proficiency in addressing safety concerns. Lead and oversee daily tailgate meetings to reinforce and enhance the established safety culture. Oversee comprehensive safety documentation including but not limited to job safety analyses, risk assessments, equipment and workplace inspections.

• Mentor and supervise Geology Interns and Geologists-in-Training and field support staff, enhancing their skills and ensuring their effective contribution to project objectives.

• Ensure company adherence and acceptance of HSE plan, including safe operating procedures defined by Dahrouge and its clients. This position is responsible to support HSE management initiatives and Dahrouge team acceptance, with all workers having the obligation to stop unsafe work.

Project and Operations Management

• Provide accountable project and deliverable management of field programs and office-based technical tasks. Oversee project teams, including Geologists-in-Training and other Professional Geologists, in project preparation, logistics, and budget management. Generate and clearly present project targets to clients and Dahrouge operations teams.

• Direct and oversee drilling activities, including drill site preparation, progress tracking, and ensuring adherence to required safety standards.

• Collect, interpret and supervise geological core processing. Implement prescribed QA/QC protocols and procedures to ensure they meet company standards and objectives of the project.

Geological Exploration and Surveying

• Develop and execute geochemical and (rarely) geophysical surveys and prospecting activities.

• Provide effective geological mapping and geological interpretations, contributing to the overall understanding of project exploration or deposit models.

Quality Assurance and Data Management

• Maintain rigorous quality assurance protocols to ensure accuracy and reliability of data captured during exploration programs, aligning with company standards and regulatory requirements.

• Oversight of data acquisition, data compilation and report writing. Data validation and interpretation for input into geological models.

Geological Modelling & Reporting

• Basine skills and knowledgebase in Leapfrog Geo, Maptek Vulcan or similar.

• Provide support to lower-level staff in facilitating database integration and project start up.

Reporting and Documentation

• Maintain corporate standards associated with our Professional Practice Management Plan, industry-defined standards, and ethical good character.

• Provide support to Senior level Staff in generating assessment and technical reports and maps. Draft and sign off on written reports using collected field data. Independently complete technical reports that meet company standards and ensure all reports are internally reviewed prior to completion and presentation.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geology.

Experience

• Minimum 6 years prior experience in mineral exploration or related field.

Designations & Certifications

• Registered as a Geologist-in-Training with ASBOG legislative body.

• Standard First Aid and CPR level C certified.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Confident decision-making overseeing projects, able to make independent decisions.

• Work independently with general supervision.

• Provide a strong understanding about industry standards.

• Strong understanding on exploratory drilling programs.

• Familiarity and application of the Dahrouge Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Plan and the Professional Practice Management Plan (must be reviewed and signed during orientation).

Working Conditions

Fieldwork
  • Exposure to harsh weather, terrain, and potential wildlife hazards, contributing to physical exertion and discomfort.
  • Core logging involves lifting up to 60 lbs and maintaining focus under pressure.
Office Work
  • Generally controlled, with some pressure during deadlines.
  • Minimal hazards compared to the field, though discomfort may arise from prolonged computer work.

  • Exposure to hazards varies by project, location, and season, requiring adaptability.
