Job Title: DOCSIS Network Architect / Access Network Architect

Location: Denver, CO

Employment Type: Long Term Contract

We are seeking an experienced DOCSIS / Access Network Architect to join a high-performing team of architects and engineers working on next-generation broadband and access network initiatives. This role will focus on Distributed Access Architectures (DAA), 10G access roadmaps, and the standardization of access network technologies across both Fiber and HFC environments.

You will play a key role in defining technical requirements for DOCSIS 4.0 RPDs and virtual CMTS (vCMTS) platforms and collaborating with equipment vendors to support next-generation deployments. There is also an opportunity to contribute to the evolution of future DOCSIS standards and access network strategy.

• Design and develop end-to-end access network architectures for DOCSIS, Fiber, and wireless-integrated environments
• Define architecture and technical requirements for DOCSIS-based networks and access platforms
• Support wireless traffic offload strategies onto DOCSIS networks
• Develop access network roadmaps and long-term strategies
• Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and deliver access network hardware and software solutions
• Create and maintain architecture and design documentation
• Partner with internal stakeholders and leadership to prioritize and deliver technical initiatives
• Participate in relevant industry standards and technology forums as needed

• 5+ years of experience in DOCSIS / Cable Access Network architecture or engineering
• Strong knowledge of HFC, Fiber, and Distributed Access Architectures (DAA)
• Hands‑on experience with CMTS, RPD, vCMTS, and access network platforms
• Solid understanding of IPv4 / IPv6 networking concepts
• Experience working with vendors and technology partners
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to design and document scalable, end-to-end network solutions

• Exposure to PON / FTTx / EPON technologies
• Experience with 5G RAN and Wireless LAN (802.11ax / 802.11be)
• Knowledge of SDN / NFV, NETCONF, YANG, and network virtualization
• Experience contributing to or working with industry standards organizations
• Leadership or team lead experience (2+ years preferred)
