Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our cutting‑edge New Aircraft Design Program team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of military aviation by leading the design and development of next‑generation aircraft. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of aerospace engineering principles, extensive experience in aircraft design, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of technology to achieve optimal performance, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Play a key role in the conceptualization, development, and refinement of advanced aircraft systems and structures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, materials, and manufacturing, to ensure successful execution from concept to production.
- Research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting‑edge products and services for the UJTS program.
- Develop complex aerodynamic components, structures, and systems, and perform design, development, analysis, and testing throughout the product lifecycle.
- Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
- Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
- Rarely exposed to loud noises.
- US Citizenship is a REQUIREMENT.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis.
- Knowledge of industry‑standard mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model‑based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience.
