Educational Assistant IV - Student Assistance
Job DescriptionProvides assistance to teachers; assists in instruction, provides some clerical support; may provide assistance with a variety of daily functions such as behavior support as well as life skills instruction; implement daily and long-range lessons. Students served are involved in the judicial system, are truant, expelled, may have sexual offenses, weapons charges, and/or have undiagnosed mental health conditions. Collaborates and consults with team and other specialists.
Use computer skills for word processing; database and spreadsheets. Assist with online grading, progress monitoring, daily one-on-one academic support. Knowledge in high school curriculum, preferred.

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. May be responsible for at-risk students in the classroom supervision in the absence of the teacher. Remain aware of student mental health needs in cases of threat assessments, safety plans. Work with students (including IEP students) who may be upset and removed from the classroom. Be prepared to support student’s behavior needs as well as life skills instruction.
Support daily and long-range lessons and activities under the direction of a certified teacher to meet student goals. Communicate with parents and other school personnel as needed. Collaborate and consult with educational team on various activities, planning and resource allocations. Respect confidentiality regarding student needs and abilities.
Education:
High School or Equivalent (Required)
Ability to use general office and classroom equipment, Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to support positive outcomes, Effective oral and written communication skills, Maintains a generally positive attitude, Observes all District policies and procedures, Strong organizational and time management skills, Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions

Salary Notes- All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
