Contract to hire, quick start! Onsite 5 days a week.

Senior Payroll Specialist/ Payroll Manager position. Approximately 400 employees in 50 states. Processing payroll, working with benefits.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Payroll Processing: Accurately process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, including salary, hourly, overtime, and bonuses.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update employee data, including tax exemptions, banking information, deductions, and address changes in the HRIS/payroll system.
  • Tax & Compliance: Calculate, file, and deposit federal, state, and local payroll taxes. Ensure compliance with labor laws, wage/hour regulations, and garnishments.
  • Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile payroll tax filings, deductions, and general ledger accounts; prepare reports for management.
  • Employee Support: Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and tax with holdings.
  • Timekeeping: Review and verify timesheets and leave accruals for accuracy.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Dayforce, UKG) and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Accuracy & Attention to Detail: High level of precision in numerical calculations and data entry.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive employee information securely.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and external agencies.
Education & Certifications
  • High school diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
