We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support financial operations across reporting, inventory, and fixed asset management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with procurement, operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial results and drive continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with month-end close schedules.
- Manage the full fixed asset lifecycle, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and recordkeeping.
- Ensure general ledger accuracy and adherence to GAAP and internal coding standards.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies across multiple entities.
- Assist with monthly inventory processes: cycle counts, variance analysis, and reconciliation of physical to system records.
- Research and resolve purchase order, receipt, and invoice discrepancies (3-way match issues).
- Partner with procurement to review commodity purchase orders and validate cost allocations.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting workflows, particularly within inventory and procurement.
- Support audit activities and complete ad-hoc financial analyses and special projects as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 3-5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience; cost accounting, inventory, and fixed asset exposure strongly preferred.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, etc.).
- Advanced Excel skills (lookup functions, pivot tables, modeling, etc.).
- Experience with inventory management software and operational processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
- Highly detail-oriented and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
- Experience in agricultural or feed manufacturing industries preferred.
- Knowledge of commodity procurement practices is a plus.
