Casual Lecturer in Leather Craft

Overview

Capel Manor College offers historic and prestigious qualifications in saddlery and shoemaking, including The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers' Diploma in Saddle, Harness and Bridle Making, The Worshipful Company of Saddlers Certificates, and the Access to HE Diploma in Shoemaking. Our courses are taught through practical demonstrations and hands‑on workshops, providing students with the skills needed to work within the leather industries.

Our graduates go on to work with employers such as saddlers, luxury leather goods makers, the British Army and fashion designers.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join the team at Capel Manor College delivering saddlery and/or shoemaking courses.

• Deliver saddlery and/or shoemaking courses, including design, practical demonstration, assessment and student support.
• Research, develop and implement new concepts and ideas within the specialist area.

• Relevant qualification in saddlery and/or shoemaking.
• Relevant industry experience and a network of contacts that can support our learners.
• Experience working in leathercraft and the ability to demonstrate knowledge of the design process through to the finished product.
• Desirable: motivation to research, develop and implement new concepts and ideas.

This is a casual position with variable hours, including some weekends. Please indicate your availability in your application form.
