Job Description: Enfield Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a love of music in students and promoting their musical growth and development.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with state standards and district goals.
- Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate best instructional practices, including differentiated instruction, collaborative learning, and technology integration.
- Teach various aspects of music education, including vocal and instrumental music, music theory, and music history.
- Foster a classroom environment that is welcoming, respectful, and supportive of all students, promoting equity and inclusion.
- Assess and evaluate students' progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their musical growth.
- Encourage students to explore their musical talents and express themselves creatively through performance and composition.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning and create opportunities for students to showcase their musical abilities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in music education.
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field.
- Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Music Education [Music, PK–12 (049)]
- Experience teaching music at various grade levels.
- Strong knowledge of child development and instructional strategies for music education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
