Trade Counter Assistant / Driver

HOURS:

22 per week, Monday to Friday, Saturday 8am - 12pm on a rota – Permanent role
SALARY: £27,936 basic salary pro‑rata, plus 10% zone allowance per year

We have a Christmas shutdown period, occasional Saturdays on a rota basis, no operating on Sundays, branches close at 4:30pm during the week to support work/life balance.

• Responsible for trade counter sales to achieve sales targets and confidently communicate product knowledge to customers.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support to new and existing customers.
• Pick, load and deliver products to customers via Eurocell's 3.5‑tonne flatbed trucks and LWB vans.
• Plan routes, drive safely, and keep the company vehicle clean.
• Support the Branch Manager with actions and activities, ensuring everything is completed on time and in full.
• Compliance with Health & Safety, company policies and procedures.
• Maintain excellence in customer service, operational standards and achieve Branch sales targets.
• Support the delivery of sales targets while developing and maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Assist with the delivery of branch operations and provide support to Branch colleagues as required.
• Maintain branch standards, including warehouse and stock management, front‑of‑house cleanliness and point of sale.

• Passion and energy to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve business targets.
• Customer‑focused approach, confident and happy to serve customers, proactively engaging with potential customers.
• Commercial mindset to drive sales and maximise margins, ensuring customers walk away happy.
• Good organisational skills, with ability to prioritise and use own initiative.
• Confident IT user, experienced with MS Office and industry‑standard software such as SAP.
• A full and valid driving licence is essential; a FLT licence could be an advantage.
• Previous branch stock‑take experience could be an advantage.
• Comfortable working in a small team and, on occasion, alone.
• Experience in a similar role within a trade, builders merchant, glazing or uPVC environment could be an advantage.
