SEN Tutor

Overview

London/ contract / £20 - 30 per hour negotiable, dependent on experience

Teacher Active is currently seeking dedicated and experienced SEN Tutors to support pupils across North London. This is an exciting opportunity for passionate education professionals who are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.

You will be delivering tailored learning support either one-to-one or in small groups to students with SEMH and ASD (including other SEN). Tuition may take place in a variety of settings, including educational provisions, community spaces such as libraries, or within the pupil’s home.

Due to the individual nature of each referral, specific details will be discussed at the next stage of the process. The Alternative Provision is looking for tutors who are available to begin immediately
, with a full-time workload available.

We welcome applications from SEN Tutors
, Teachers
, HLTAs
, or LSAs who have:

• Proven 6 months experience tutoring students on a 1:1 or small-group basis
• Confidence working independently in home or community-based settings
• Strong ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and families
• Excellent knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
• A creative and flexible approach to adapting learning materials
• Experience supporting learners with SEMH, ASD, or other SEND needs
• An undergraduate degree and/or substantial experience working with SEND pupils
• Good general education in English and Maths
• A strong understanding of a range of learning difficulties and behavioural needs
• The ability to adapt to different learning environments and student abilities
• A caring, patient, and practical approach to supporting learners
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility around working hours and locations
