Learning Support Assistant / Entry-Level Cover Supervisor – Secondary School

Teach Now is recruiting an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant / Entry-Level Cover Supervisor for a secondary school in Enfield. This role is specifically designed for individuals who want to dip their toes into education and gain structured, hands-on experience in a school setting before progressing further.

This is an ideal opportunity for graduates, tutors, academic mentors, SEN support workers, or career changers who are curious about teaching or pastoral roles. You will begin with a one-week supported training programme, working alongside highly experienced Cover Supervisors with over 15 years’ classroom experience. Following positive feedback, you will move into regular Cover Supervisor bookings, offering a clear and sustainable pathway into education.

In the role, you will support students across Key Stages 3, 4, and occasionally 5. You’ll assist in lessons, help maintain focus and positive behaviour, and supervise classes during short-term teacher absence using pre-prepared materials. You’ll also play a key role in building positive relationships with students and contributing to a calm, inclusive learning environment.

No formal teaching qualification is required. Full training, safeguarding guidance, and ongoing support are provided throughout.
