Design Manager

Design Manager - New Build Residential - Hertfordshire - Freelance

An established and highly regarded main contractor has an immediate requirement for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join the team on a 6-9 month freelance contract for a new residential development.

The role will be split between the contractor's office in Hertfordshire and the project site.

The project is a major £50m town residential development, consisting of multi-storey RC frame apartment blocks, with the successful candidate initially based in the office supporting the pre-construction and design coordination phase.

As a leading contractor, they are seeking an experienced Design Manager with a strong track record of delivering large-scale projects, ideally within a Tier 1 main contracting environment. You will be well organised, comfortable working with large project teams, and able to provide immediate technical and coordination support to the wider team.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager on large residential or mixed-use developments

Previous experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor

Strong knowledge of RC frame residential construction

Degree-qualified in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline

Candidates from an architectural background will be considered, provided they have significant experience working for main contractors as a Design Manager.
