Our firm is working with a growing Manufacturing plant in the Southern Tier of Upstate NY. They are looking for Senior Design Engineers to lead the development of advanced mechanical componentsResponsibilities
- Develop, design, and test fixtures and tools for various machining
- Develop manufacturing routings and analyze engineering change notices
- Participate in design for manufacturability reviews
- Lead product/process improvements and cost out initiatives.
- Perform root cause analysis
- Program CNC for various milling, turning and operations and ensure optimum cycle time and tools selection.
Qualifications and requirements
- 10 years+ in a shop floor manufacturing environment preferably aerospace products
- US Citizen
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or Master degree with 7 years of experience.
- Must have at least 5-years of CAD 3D & 2D drawings software experience preferably Creo and Esprit Edge CNC programming.
- Lean Six-Sigma process improvement experience
- At least 3-years experience in designing fixtures and tools for machining operations and assemblies
- Familiarity with vacuum and dip brazing processes
This role is onsite 5 days
