Lead Warehouse

Overview

Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is looking for a Warehouse Lead.

Location:

1014 N El Camino Real, Encinitas. Position:
Non-Exempt / Hourly. Job Type: Full-time / Permanent. Wage: $19.00 / hr - $22.00 / hr.

All applicants must satisfactorily complete our pre-employment drug screen, physical (Obtain DOT Medical Card), background, and motor vehicle record check.

• Ensure all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.
• Adhere to, enforce and report all safety policies and procedures in the warehouse and supervise delivery drivers with the Transportation team.
• Load and unload merchandise into customers’ cars and delivery trucks while avoiding damage.
• Provide “world class” customer service on the phone, in the warehouse, and on deliveries.
• Guarantee staff are properly trained to safely use tools such as forklift, pallet jack, hand tools, and safe loading/unloading methods.
• Document creation and accuracy on invoices, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Learn product assembly; hire, train, and retain Warehouse Associates and Sales Support as needed.
• Serve as a substitute driver as needed and observe safe lifting methods.
• Assist with building maintenance, repairs, services, janitorial, and ad-hoc responsibilities as needed.
• This position is scheduled for Wednesday – Sunday.
• Coordinate with and dotted-line report to the Transportation team.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Ability to read and understand assemblies, instructions, and shipping/receiving paperwork.
• Experience operating forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and hand tools preferred.
• Able to lift 75 lbs. unassisted (moving furniture in showroom, warehouse, and onto trucks).
• Basic math, computer, and POS skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Able to successfully complete pre-employment physical and drug screening.
• Continuous standing, lifting, bending and twisting.
• Comfortable at heights up to 25’.

• Regular standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping.
• Exposure to external weather, heat and cold.
• Exposure to noise and moving machinery.
• Some office work using standard equipment; seated at computer, keyboard, monitor, and phone.
• Working hours include weekends and holidays with required flexibility.

• High School diploma or equivalent GED; 1-3 years of successful work experience, preferably in a warehouse environment.
