Base pay range$17.25/hr - $27.25/hr
Position OverviewAs a SAMBAZON Shift Supervisor you will assist the Cafe Manager in leading the store alongside your team members to deliver excellent guest service and beautifully handcrafted products. You will model our store operation standards and bring to life SAMBAZON’s Mission and Values in the store. This role will help create a welcoming store environment while making a positive and meaningful impact on every guest.
You will guide others and grow your leadership skills as you assign and delegate tasks to maintain an exceptional experience for our guests and team members. The Shift Supervisor can work on a full-time or part-time basis.
- Provides high quality food products and beverages consistently for all guests by adhering to all recipes, presentation standards and health department requirements.
- Anticipates guests and café needs by evaluating the environment and guests for cues. Communicates information to the Café Manager so the team can respond as necessary to help to create a welcoming environment.
- Assists with new hire and ongoing training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed. Communicates feedback to the Café Manager on employee performance during the shift.
- Delivers exceptional customer service to all guests by acting with a guest first attitude and engaging with the guest.
- Develops positive relationships with the team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns.
- Executes store operations during scheduled shifts. Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Complies with SAMBAZON’s operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all employees during each shift.
- Follows all cash management and cash register policies and ensures proper cash management practices are followed by the team.
- Utilizes operational tools to achieve operational excellence during the shift.
- Upholds regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep café operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
- Other job-related duties as requested by the management team.
- At least six (6) months of experience delegating tasks and/or coordinating the tasks of two (2) or more team members.
- One (1) year experience in a supervisor/manager role preferred.
- High school diploma is preferred.
- Food handler's certification must be obtained in compliance with San Diego County regulations.
