Lead Barista – Coffee Dose, Encinitas

The Lead Barista is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and support to the team, creating schedules, enforcing procedures, ensuring the cafe operates efficiently, serving as the point of contact between staff and upper management, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

- Ensures that store is operating at or above standards
- Works closely with the teams and general manager to ensure daily upkeep, streamlined communication, and excellent customer service
- Can step in as acting manager when needed
- Has strong leadership skills, is as good at taking direction as they are giving direction, and can think quickly on their feet
- Detail oriented
- Strong customer service skills
- Ensuring staff members are taking breaks
- Assisting customers with complaints or concerns
- Assisting with ordering
- Working with the store manager for day‑to‑day operations
- Ensuring quality drinks and products are being served
- Perform regular barista duties, including register and customer service
- Perform other duties as assigned
$19.00–$20.00 per hour, plus tips averaging an additional $4–$6 per hour.
Skills and Qualifications- Previous coffee experience
- Experience as a lead/supervisor
- Ability to work in high‑pressure and fast‑paced environments
- Well‑organized and detail‑oriented
- Experience with and ability to use a Point of Sale (POS) system
- Effective problem solving/decision making skills
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and verbal communication skills
Full‑time, approximately 40 hours a week; must be able to work weekends and holidays.
