What Registered Nurse contributes to Cardinal Health
Registered Nurse plays a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and-quality nursing care. They examine patients, administer prescribed medications, and facilitate healing and comfort. Nursing requires training and licensing to care for patients.
To provide patient/family‑driven care, the Registered Nurse, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, delivers treatment with an emphasis on assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of health and, when indicated, end‑of‑life comfort care in a culturally sensitive manner.
Responsibilities- Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and other parties to understand care needs.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Promotes patient independence by establishing care goals and teaching patients, friends, and family about condition, medications, and self‑care skills.
- Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, adjusting care as needed, and following state board regulations and professional society standards.
- Resolves patient problems and needs by using multidisciplinary team strategies.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies and calling for assistance when necessary.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control policies, safe medication practices, and controlled substance regulations.
- Documents patient care services through charting in patient and department records.
- Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
- Maintains patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calling for repairs, and evaluating new equipment.
- Maintains nursing supplies inventory, checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, placing orders, verifying receipt, and using supplies effectively.
- Updates and maintains professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, building networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Maintains respectful, cooperative relationships among health‑care teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in team problem‑solving.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary.
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a diploma, associate, or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Passed the NCLEX‑RN.
- Licensed by the state.
