Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Outpatient Pharmacy Technician III performs a full range of duties in a retail pharmacy setting and is able to perform all general tasks in all areas of the pharmacy. They will assist the pharmacist in the preparation of medications for patient use according to established procedures, facilitate the distribution of medications including delivery of medications to the patient’s bedside (Med-2-Bed program), perform computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions, maintain inventory levels, and perform other duties as assigned.

Will perform assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and will assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in different pharmacy areas.

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
• Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience (retail pharmacy) is required.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations.
• Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Oncology Pharmacy Experience.
• Specialty Pharmacy Experience.
• Cash handling experience.
• Experience with Epic and/or Willow Ambulatory.

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $67,756 - $84,209 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $32.45 - $40.33
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
