The Vehicle/Equipment Mechanic ensures vehicles and equipment are in safe operating condition by determining needed repairs and/or replacements on district vehicles; performing required repairs and preventive maintenance and providing written documentation of repairs to meet district, state and federal requirements.

• Job-related experience within specialized field required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid California commercial Class A or B driver's license, copy of front and back
• Medical examiner's certificate

12 months / M-F, 8:30a.m.

Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in an examination process. Exam Components consist of a Multiple choice test (weight: 30%) and a Performance test (weight: 70%). The competitive basis for this recruitment is established as open/promotional-dual certification: candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and pass the exams are placed on an eligibility list. The list is used to fill current and future vacancies for six months.

Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of post‑offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance.
