Produce pallets of product properly stacked, stretch wrapped, and ready to stored in the warehouse.

• Ensure the palletizing machine is running at all times and troubleshoot palletizer malfunctions / abnormalities to maintain overall line efficiency, including the machine, shuttle cars, wrappers and photo eyes. Inform maintenance of needed repairs.
• Select appropriate palletizing pattern and verify code date at each changeover. Notify forklift driver of changeover and ensure pallets meet quality standards. Comply with QA guidelines and verify finished pallets are acceptable.
• Check pallet pattern for each product and verify the palletizer is set up for the correct bag size and pattern. Optimize stack patterns to uphold high quality by minimizing overhang, eliminating gaps, and presenting a tightly stacked, symmetrical pallet.
• Coordinate material handling and maintain open communication with the forklift driver to prevent material shortages. Plan ahead for changeovers with Parsons/Thiele operators and ensure correct materials are used for each product (pallets, slip sheets, film).
• Assist the manifestor in the LP process by covering the manifest station during breaks. Verify accuracy of LPs applied to pallets and ensure G-Code and quantity are correct.
• Participate as a member of the team, fostering cohesiveness and contributing to the implementation of team concepts, programs and policies. Attend team meetings and support actions to achieve synergy within the organization.
• Be familiar with Simmons operating systems and support quality, security, and lean practices; understand the position’s role in maintaining these systems and communicate concerns or improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives. This description guides the palletizer operator duties and is not a comprehensive list of all work that may be required.

• Stand, walk, and lift up to 55 lbs. Lifting up to 55 lbs occurs approximately 15% of the time. Work may involve hot and cold climates.
• Personal Protective Equipment: steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, hair net.

  Basic math skills, reading, writing, computer knowledge, and good English communication skills.
