Admissions Counselor

The Admissions Counselor will work in a fast-paced workplace focused on customer service, enrollment management and student success. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions. The Admissions Counselor is critical to achieving university objectives through the recruitment of first-time incoming freshmen students.

This staff member will be the primary contact with prospective students (in an assigned territory) and their families to promote the opportunities offered at ESU. A significant part of the recruitment process will be establishing and nurturing relationships that allow students to learn about ESU, including but not limited to College Counselors at key schools.

The Admissions Counselor will collaborate with other Admissions Office staff members and other departments across our campus, working together to coordinate recruitment activities and outreach efforts. Travel is required, especially during the fall and spring recruitment seasons.

• Earned bachelor's degree
• One-year full-time experience in admissions or higher education
• Demonstrate a willingness to travel and have a valid driver's license or ability to obtain by start date
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with student information systems

• Experience using Target X and Banner
• Full time admissions or academic advising with transfer students experience in information systems
