Aboutthe Role
You will be a part of the World Class Planning Team at Grocery Outlet. The focus of this role is to manage and ensure perfect execution on the following core concerns of the business: item creation, PO placement, PO tracking, PO revisions, and all PO/item touchpoints from the point of PO creation to delivery at our warehouses. In this role, you will manage a team of Order Management Specialists (OMS) that are working to deliver on the above responsibilities for specific areas of the business.
In addition to managing this team to our internal standards, this role will be executed to perform these tactical PO management responsibilities as well. This role reports to the SVP – Inventory Management.
- Management of a team of Order Management Specialists (OMS). You will be responsible for both the quality of their output and professional development.
- Define the standard PO management process that your team (and you) will follow in this role, in partnership with the Planning/Buying leads in the business.
- Creation of reporting to manage and monitor the quality of output of the OMS team.
- Responsible for all Purchase Order creation for a defined business category.
- Ensure that purchase orders are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Follow up on the purchase order shipping and receiving status with supplier and warehouse.
- Monitor order fulfillment & shipment tracking status and provide to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain and update accurate ship dates, quantities, costs and descriptions on purchase orders as things change.
- Establishes and maintains a reputation of credibility and responsiveness; promptly returns vendor and store phone calls, ensures timely follow‑up on issues within 24 hours.
- Manages past due POs and supplier follow‑up.
- Run weekly/monthly reports to support the Purchasing team.
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor on an ad hoc basis.
- Base Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 Annually

- Experience building/establishing process and standards.
- Experience with management of others preferred.
- Experience with SAP systems preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Keen to details and highly organized.
- Able to effectively and respectfully communicate with all levels of staff and management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, willing to learn and shows positive attitude towards change.
- Proven team player, self‑motivated, independent thinker.
