About the Role

We're looking for Cultural Resources Specialists - Field Technicians to support upcoming projects and workload in the Northern California area. These positions will be on-call with duration and schedule of assignments dependent on project needs.

You Will
  • Participate in archaeological surveys, excavation, and monitoring, including the: use of GPS equipment; excavation of shovel probes, auger probes, and test units; and monitoring of backhoe excavations and construction activities.
  • Hike in difficult terrain with challenging vegetation and obstacles and/or excavate in hot and dry conditions with winds and dust.
  • Complete field forms and correctly identify and document artifacts and features.
You Have
  • Bachelor's degree in archaeology, anthropology, or closely related field.
  • 1 year of professional experience in archaeological survey, monitoring, and/or excavation.
  • Familiarity with California archaeological site types and artifact identification.
  • The ability to hike in the range of 10+ miles per day and carry loads of 40 lbs. over difficult terrain.
Compensation Information

Hourly rate for this position is in the range of $27.00-$32.00.

Compensation is determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and role. We conduct an equity review for all positions. We value transparency in salary discussions and look forward to sharing more about our compensation structure and the benefits of being an employee-owner.
