Cashier role at The Home Depot focused on delivering fast, friendly, accurate and safe service. Cashiers process checkout and/or returns, monitor the self-checkout area, and provide product knowledge to help customers. They follow all policies to minimize shrink.
Responsibilities- Process Checkout and/or Return transactions
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area
- Proactively seek product knowledge to provide customers with information and identify selling opportunities
- Follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink
- Support Head Cashier by expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental
- Provide first-level escalation for customer issues
- Assist in supervision, coaching and training of other Front End Associates; participate in the training of new Cashiers and use available tools to coach and develop other Cashiers
- The preferred qualification for a Head Cashier is 1+ years of Cashier experience.
