Position: Med-Surg Nurse (RN) in Elyria, OH
A position is available for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical care, with a focus on oncology preferred but not mandatory. This role involves working on a 32-bed unit providing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The setting requires proficiency in managing complex care needs, including tasks such as CVC line draws, IV starts, medication administration, and use of specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts, Arjo devices, Alaris pumps, and wound vac therapy.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current RN license in the practicing state or covered by the Nurse Licensure Compact
• BLS certification required; NIH Stroke Certification and ACLS preferred
• Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (CMSRN) or other relevant certifications such as CCRN, PCCN, or RN-BC preferred
• Experience with dysrhythmia exams required
• Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
• Strong clinical skills in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams
• Strong communication skills and cultural competence
• Capability to handle high-stress environments and fluctuating workloads

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses
• Coordinate patient care and serve as a point of contact for various hospital departments
• Support patient and family coping through education and emotional support
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold patient safety standards
• Utilize specialized equipment proficiently in daily care routines
• Adhere to protocols for patient privacy and workplace safety
