Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support, guide, train and coach all associates in the department
- Align each associate with performance expectations based on skill and ability and provide them the tools needed to be successful
- Plan and schedule work activities to meet production targets and deadlines
- Monitor team member performance and ensure high productivity levels while maintaining quality
- Observe machines and equipment for malfunction. Repair and adjust accordingly for best operational and quality results
- Analyze production data and provide reports to management regarding performance and areas for improvement
- Communicate/collaborate with all other departments within the Foundry to support smooth operations
- Provide hands‑on assistance to backfill or assist with production as necessary
- Collaborate with HR and Safety with employee relations and the hiring process
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies for improving efficiency and reducing waste
- Enforce workplace policy and procedure to promote a safe and healthy work environment
- Train new hires and current employees in shake out processes and in the operation of machines and equipment
- Foster effective employee relations and positive employee morale
- Perform other duties as required
- 5-10 years of Melt Shop Iron Foundry production experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-5 years of leadership experience in sand casting environment
- Excellent coordination and attention to detail
- General knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance as well as using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes
- Experience inspecting equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or defects
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions
- Basic math skills
- Effective leadership, verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working near and around extreme heat (furnaces/ladles of iron)
- Handle moving objects:
Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials. - Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling materials.
- Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures.
- Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
