Elyria Catholic High School
Diocese of Cleveland
Elyria Catholic High School seeks a faith-filled and visionary leader to serve as its next Principal. Rooted in Catholic tradition and committed to academic excellence, Elyria Catholic forms young adults who learn, worship, and serve with purpose. The next principal will help guide the school’s continued growth by supporting outstanding teaching, strong student formation, and thoughtful innovation in teaching and learning.
The mission of Elyria Catholic High School is to empower young adults to identify and use their God-given talents to learn, worship, and serve, guided by Catholic tradition. Anchored in the pillars of Excellence, Compassion, Faith, Tradition, and Community, Elyria Catholic celebrates nearly 80 years of inspiring its current enrollment of more than 530 students to think deeply, act with purpose, and make a difference.
Founded in 1947 by Monsignor Newton, Elyria Catholic is the only Catholic high school in Lorain County and the only coeducational Catholic high school on Cleveland’s far west side.
With strong enrollment and growing interest from prospective students and families, Elyria Catholic is thoughtfully planning new, flexible learning spaces to accommodate enrollment growth and support collaboration, innovation, and student success.
As the school nears completion of its current five-year strategic plan, Elyria Catholic is advancing its comprehensive campaign, Boldly EC, focused on strengthening academic programs, enhancing campus facilities, and growing both the endowment and the Panther Fund. Inspired by our past and investing in our future, Elyria Catholic continues to shape lives, grow saints, and build community.
The Principal reports directly to the President and closely collaborates with the President and the leadership team to advance Elyria Catholic’s mission, strategic priorities, and long-term vision.
