Responsibilities
Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is seeking experienced, enthusiastic, and innovative applicants for an adjunct faculty position within the Division of Engineering, Business, and Information Technologies (EBIT). The Adjunct Mechanical Systems Instructor will be responsible for, but not limited to, providing mechanical system lectures and labs for the TECN 133 Mechanical Systems course, as needed, each semester. Topics of instruction include basic industrial safety, precision measurement, basic blueprint reading, hand and power tools, fasteners, torque and tension, gear drives, chain drives, belt drives, shaft alignment, bearings, lubrication, rigging, and ladder safety.
Opportunities to teach other mechanical engineering technology courses may also be available.
- Must be available to teach days and/or evenings;
- Must feel comfortable using learning management systems (Canvas) in the delivery of courses;
- Must be able to utilize and maintain lab equipment;
- Must be able to adapt teaching methods to meet the varying needs and interests of students;
- Must be able to administer and grade tests, evaluate students, prepare weekly classes and performance testing based on the course curriculum;
- Must demonstrate a working knowledge and appreciation of mechanical system practices used in industry;
- Must be able to demonstrate the safe and proper use of tools and equipment used in industry;
- Must be able to deliver curriculum on campus.
