Reporting directly to the Manager of the Children’s Learning Center, the Staff Assistant will perform multiple office tasks to support the administrative functions of the center and related programs. The candidate must be well organized, able to communicate effectively and respectfully with families and departments across campus in person, by phone, and electronically. The ability to work independently, work cooperatively with other staff, and a willingness to learn and grow professionally is essential.
Typical duties will include, but are not limited to:
producing documents using administrative and office productivity software for a variety of tasks
working with the staff to plan and organize programs and events
maintain enrollment records, tuition accounts, and securing long term storage of vital records
interacting with children and families enrolled at the center, as well as multiple offices throughout campus
assisting with scheduling and other projects as assigned
The incumbent must be flexible in work hours including daytime and/or evening hours, which may vary by semester. This position is 25 hours/week Monday - Friday.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent learning experience,
Working knowledge of standard office equipment, including advanced knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Access and data base management programs,
Ability to work in a fast paced environment,
Ability to perform tasks within established guidelines with minimal to no direct supervision.
Must have current training in CPR/First Aid, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse or the ability to complete upon hiring
Must be able to meet all ODJFS Childcare staff licensing requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with People Soft and Oracle as used in the academic and financial components of the division
Familiarity or experience with subsidized childcare
Childcare office experience and familiarity with ODJFS licensing regulations
