The Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach is responsible for specific aspects of the men’s tennis program, exercising independent judgment to provide technical expertise in the fundamentals of the sport, teaching student-athletes basic and advanced skills, and assisting the Head Men’s Tennis Coach in team management through recruiting, program development, fundraising, promotional activities, and other responsibilities. The Assistant Coach mentors student-athletes throughout the academic year.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
Preferred Education and Experience
At least two years of coaching experience at the intercollegiate level is preferred; extensive collegiate player experience can substitute for coaching experience. NCAA Division I coaching experience is preferred. Knowledge of NCAA rules regarding recruitment, eligibility, scholarships, and related functions is required.
Job Duties
- Supports a competitive men’s tennis program aligned with the educational goals of student-athletes, fostering a coaching philosophy that encourages personal development and a positive environment.
- Manages specific aspects of the tennis program as assigned, planning objectives, demonstrating technical expertise, and teaching skills and strategies.
- Ensures compliance with NCAA, conference, and university rules regarding recruiting, eligibility, scholarships, practice sessions, and related activities.
- May teach courses or sessions as part of the university community.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach to support the athletics program’s success.
