The Operations Processing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of both the processing process and staff. This role entails ensuring the efficient attainment of production targets while upholding the highest standards of quality, food safety, and overall safety throughout the processing department. This position demands strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, along with technical expertise. Additionally, you must excel in multitasking within a fast-paced environment and possess the capability to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Supervise and organize manufacturing activities, oversee resource allocation and workflow management to achieve production targets in alignment with plant policies, with a concentrated focus on safety and quality.
- Provide continuous leadership, train, mentor and develop production team members to enhance their skills and performance levels.
- Actively promote plant safety and adherence to Quality, Sanitation, GMP, and HACCP standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
- Enforce optimal practices for inventory management, material handling, and waste reduction to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as warehouse, quality assurance, research and development, and supply chain, to address production challenges and introduce enhancements to processes.
- Evaluate production data and performance metrics to pinpoint trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and possibilities for enhancing process efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting employee engagement in problem-solving and encouraging suggestions for process enhancements.
- Coordinate and supervise pre-production activities and equipment set-up.
- Apply disciplinary actions as per plant policies and procedures.
- Review shift activities, adjusting for continuous improvement.
- Keep management informed of production status and promptly address any issues.
- Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees and work together to achieve them.
- Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
- Check production output according to specifications.
- Submit reports on performance and progress.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position directly supervises 16 or more production personnel.
