Fin Trust Connect has partnered with a well-established community bank in northern New Jersey that is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting department. Requirements:

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in community banking
• CPA preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and banking regulatory requirements (including call reports)
• Experience with CECL reporting and internal controls
• Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Excel

Description:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income, and cash flow)
• Oversee CECL preparation, reporting, and analysis
• Manage the full accounting cycle and monthly close process, including reconciliations and accruals
• Ensure accuracy and timely filing of regulatory reports, including call reports
• Maintain strong internal controls to manage risk and ensure compliance
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff
• Manage the operating budget process and monitor variances throughout the year
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership to support strategic planning
