Position OverviewRole:
Middle School Social Worker (SSW)
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM
Start Date:
ASAP
End Date:
Early to Mid April (Leave of Absence coverage)
Setting: 100% In-Person
Grade Levels: 6–8
Estimated Caseload:
Approximately 35 students
As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ academic, emotional, and behavioral success. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering direct and consult social work services to students
- Supporting IEP implementation and service delivery
- Gathering and analyzing data for progress monitoring and reports
- Completing IEP documentation for Annual Reviews
- Supporting Initial and Reevaluation IEP meetings and paperwork
- Collaborating with teachers, special education teams, and families
- Advocating for students and fostering a positive school climate
Required Credentials:
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- School Social Worker Endorsement
Ideal Candidate Traits:
- Strong understanding of middle school student needs
- Experience with IEPs, special education processes, and data collection
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Compassionate, organized, and student-focused approach
- Ability to step in quickly and make an immediate impact
