New Home Star is the largest privately owned seller of new homes in America. As a member of our Technology team, you’ll support both our Corporate Support Office and our home builder partners—helping them sell more homes, more profitably.
We are looking for a UI/UX developer who can create clean, usable, consistent experiences for our complex internal platforms that power CRM, contests, forms, training, admin workflows, and wallet/finance dashboards. This role is hands‑on and requires you to work closely with engineering to scale our design system consistently using high-quality design.
Our Corporate Support Office is located in the heart of downtown Elmhurst and is not your typical “corporate” setting. - Own UX and UI design for dashboard‑style products (admin panels, role‑based tools, complex forms, reporting views).
- Turn open‑ended requests into clear user flows, wireframes, and polished UI.
- Create clickable prototypes for stakeholder alignment while considering accessibility and real‑world usage.
- Collaborate with engineers on implementation details, edge cases, and QA.
- Build and maintain a simple design system (components, patterns, spacing, typography, states).
- Improve usability and consistency across multiple modules (CRM, contests, training, wallet, admin).
- Front‑end:
Next.js, React, Type Script - UI:
Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, charts, forms, role‑based views - Product reality: fast iteration, lots of stakeholders, and workflows that actually impact operations
- Availability:
Must work in‑person two days per week in the Elmhurst, IL corporate office. - Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher preferred. - Experience:
5+ years of UX/UI experience designing web products (SaaS or internal tools preferred). - Strong product instincts for workflows, information architecture, and state‑heavy screens.
- High proficiency with Figma (components, auto‑layout, variants, design systems).
- Ability to produce clear deliverables (flows, wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, prototypes).
- Strong communication and collaboration. You can explain tradeoffs and align teams.
- Comfort designing for accessibility basics (keyboard navigation, contrast, layout clarity).
- Experience designing internal admin tools, CRMs, finance dashboards, or workflow‑heavy products is preferred.
- Experience working with component libraries and design systems (Radix, Material, etc.) is a plus.
- Additional
Preferred Experience:
Basic front‑end familiarity (HTML/CSS, Tailwind, React) so handoff is clean. - Ability to occasionally contribute UI in code (React/Tailwind) or refine UI during implementation.
- Experience running lightweight user testing or feedback sessions.
- Get fully ramped on core workflows and users (admin, contests, CRM, forms, wallet).
- Ship design improvements that reduce confusion and rework for Engineering.
- Establish a simple, reusable design system that keeps new features consistent.
- Create a repeatable process for discovery, design, and handoff that moves quickly.
