Seasonal Tax Preparer

We’re looking for a Seasonal Tax Preparer who can help support our team of tax advisors and financial advisors in delivering exceptional Individual and Small Business tax services to clients for the 2026 Tax Season.

Are you an experienced tax professional looking for a flexible, work‑from‑home role that allows you to put your tax knowledge to good use without committing to a year‑round position?

As a Seasonal Tax Preparer, you will join a talented and collaborative group of experienced tax and operations professionals to ensure clients receive accurate, timely, and compliant tax returns.

February 15, 2026 to April 15, 2026.

Hourly Rate

$25.00

Primary Job Functions
  • Review client information, supporting documents, and work papers
  • Identify missing information required to prepare a return
  • Surface potential tax issues or areas requiring senior review
  • Ensure returns move efficiently through the preparation workflow and meet filing deadlines
  • Maintain organized notes, work papers, and supporting documents in CCH Document
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure team process, policy, and guidelines are followed
  • Complete returns using CCH Axcess, in consultation with senior members of our team if needed
  • Maintain client confidentiality; adhere to firm policies, IRS regulations, and professional standards
Education / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Finance or Business; BS in Accounting preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
  • EA or CPA Preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience preparing Individual (Form 1040) taxes for medium to high complexity tax situations.
  • 3+ years of concurrent experience preparing Trust, Estate, Gift, or small business (partnerships, LLCs, S‑Corporation) tax returns would be a plus.
  • Experience with multi‑state return preparation.
  • Foundational understanding of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial statements, asset transactions, and tax documents accurately.
  • Ability to manage high‑volume workflow during peak deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas and data analysis tools; experience with CCH Axcess or similar software.
  • Highly motivated to be an outstanding tax professional.
